‘Crowdfunding – A Dirty Word?’ at Monthly Nashville Music Industry Luncheon

Nashville Music Industry copyThe Nashville Music Industry Luncheon is an opportunity for people from all corners of the music industry to network, master-mind and be educated by industry leaders. The event is held the last Thursday of every month from 11:30 –  1:00 PM.

‘Crowdfunding – A Dirty Word?’ with Mike Fabio

This talk will encompass the triumphs and pitfalls of crowdfunding and direct-to-fan models, as well as showcasing a variety of basic techniques and best practices to use during your campaigns. We’ll discuss the differences between various platforms, the dangers of using the word ‘crowdfunding’, and why you can learn a whole lot from how those outside the music business are raising capital.

About Mike Fabio:

Mike is Metallica and Napster all rolled into one. After he got tired of building music-playing robots at M.I.T., he moved to LA and spent a few years teaching The Brothers Warner how YouTube works. Mike can tell you what software to use, what music to listen to and how to fix your Mars rover. He’s grown weary of saying “someone should fix that…” and has decided he’s going to have to fix it himself. Bring him anything, and he’ll break it, rethink it and fix it to make it better. For him, success is all about the fans – and he’s got the data to prove it.
