Judy Rodman has many years of professional experience as an award-winning recording artist, stage and television performer, multi-genre hit songwriter, studio producer and vocal consultant, and a highly sought-after voice teacher. Her credits include the #1 hit, “Until I Met You”, plus numerous other Top 10 hits. She has sung lead or background vocals on literally thousands of commercials, movie soundtracks and top albums. She won the Academy of Country Music’s “Top New Female Vocalist” Award in 1985!

Karen Shayne
Karen Shayne is the CEO of Maristone Senior Living, a recording artist/sonwriter as well as the host of the weekly TV segment,”On Modern Age”. A two-time cancer survivor, Karen serves as Founder/Chairman of the Ivan and Sam Foundation which assists children fighting cancer through entertainment and educational programs. Karen is the recipient of the 2003 Small Business Council of America’s “Humanitarian of the Year” Award.
Originally hailing from Atlanta she has been honored with the 2001 Georgia State Senate Resolution Honoree; 2007 Lifetime Television and Loreal Cosmetics “Women of Worth” Nominee; 2005 Lance Armstrong Foundation “Spirit of Survivorship” Award Nominee; 2005 Turner Broadcast System “Pathways” Nominee; and past spokesperson for American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
Indie Connect supports the Ivan and Sam Foundation, which helps children with cancer understand and cope with their disease and its treatments. It accomplishes this by giving out free coloring books that follow a young boy’s journey from diagnosis to cure, a positive music CD and an amimated video (in development) that follows the storyline in the coloring book. Indie Connect is so very proud to welcome its third Founding Member, Anise. Anise is an Elvis-loving vocalist/keyboard player who has been attending nearly all of the Indie Connect meetings each week for several months. She was born in Murfreesboro, moved out of state with her family for many years, and recently returned to settle in Smyrna, TN. Plugging into the events has helped her establish contacts and resources in the community and we have watched her confidence grow by leaps and bounds.

Lisa Aschmann
Lisa Aschmann has an emotional style that’s pure, simple and sincere. Her musical styles include folk, R&B, jazz, gospel, country, pop, bluegrass, Latin & Celtic-inflected music. Less common, but still part of her catalog include some rock, rockabilly, Cajun, classical and Calypso music. Varied and “out-of-the-box” thinking contributes to this variety. She’s co-written lots of source cues for film and television, including: West Wing, Hack, Shark, Bones, Numb3rs, My Name Is Earl, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Providence, Sex & the City, America’s Top Models, The X-Files, My Beautiful Launderette, JAG, LA Doctors, Steel, Smoke, Date Fate, Sesame Street, and Horses and Men.
Lisa has appeared in a variety of venues, including The San Francisco Folk Festival, Western Workers Labor Heritage Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, the International Womens’ Music Festival in Beer Sheva, Israel, Web Radio, and house concerts. Her book, 1000 Songwriting Ideas is a source of inspiration for songwriters and is published by Hal Leonard. Lisa has given many songwriting workshops all over the country, including PSGW (Puget Sound Guitar Workshop), CCMC (California Coastal Music Camp), Belmont University, Vanderbilt University, Camp Harmony, NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International), WCS (West Coast Songwriters), Frank Brown Festival SGA (Songwriters Guild of America), Indie Connect, Club Passim, and Foothill College. She could give one in your town, too.
