Utilizing Nonprofit Relationships To Enhance Your Reputation.

Getting and maintaining a positive reputation is the key to having a long and stable music career. There are countless ways to create what I call a ‘benevolent buzz’ around yourself, your music and your act. Here are a three:
1. Volunteer to perform at fundraisers and nonprofit events for organizations whose purpose you believe in. If you do it more than once, your name will begin to be associated with that cause and you will attract fans who are also supporters. They will also promote you much more than just about any nightclub will!
2. Create your own event to raise money for a cause. One way to do this is to offer to perform a concert or dinner show with your act getting $5 per ticket sold and the rest of the money going to the charity. You both sell tickets to it. It’s a win-win. You get paid and get positive exposure, and you even are viewed as a hero of sorts. The cause makes money as well.
3. Offer to promote your dearest cause from stage by wearing a shirt with the organization logo on it. You can also talk about it from stage and even write a song about it. Some organizations who rely on monthly donors will actually pay you to recruit donors for them. Some acts make enough money just from this to pay all of their touring costs!
